Martin Baier, writer, educator, practitioner, is one of the stellar figures of direct marketing in the twentieth century. He developed and now serves as the director of the Center of Direct Marketing Education and Research at the Henry W. Bloch School of Business of the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Baier is a member of the Direct Marketing Association's Hall of Fame and has received numerous other awards for his contributions to the advancement of the direct marketing profession and to direct marketing education.
David L. Edgell, Sr., Ph.D. is a consultant for Ruf's tourism division. Dr. Edgell served as the first commissioner of tourism for the U.S. Virgin Islands. Prior to that, he served as the acting Under Secretary of Commerce for the United States. Currently Dr. Edgell is a tenured professor in the College of Human Ecology, Department of Hospitality Management, teaching classes in Dimensions of Tourism and Tourism Policy and Management. He is also the director for the Institute for Tourism at East Carolina University, housed within the College of Human Ecology.
